‘My Sister, the Serial Killer’ Utilizes Symbolism to Draw Attention The Social Issues in Nigeria(THE DAILY NEBRASKAN)

Everyone has bad habits. Some people bite their nails, others waste time online or sleep in late. But in the book “My Sister, the Serial Killer,” Ayoola’s uncontrollable bad habit is the reckless murders of her boyfriends.

“My Sister, the Serial Killer” was published on Nov. 20 and was written by Nigerian freelance writer Oyinkan Braithwaite. The book is made up of very short but captivating chapters that make it hard to put down. The story follows Korede — a nurse and a serial killer's sister — who is seen as unattractive and as her gorgeous yet, murderous sister’s opposite.
